Re-creating a French Countryside Garden with Outdora
The allure of the French countryside has long since inspired artists from around the world as through the gardens and paintings of Claude Monet. Just over an hour outside of Paris, the magnificent garden of Monet in Giverny is a dimensional array of colors, flower varietals, and of course, home to the famous lily pond.
The key to re-creating your own Monet-style garden is to allow flowers to grow naturally with no organization other than to group them according to color. Visual interest can be created by planting flowers of varying heights and by choosing selections that will bloom throughout the seasons.
As if to welcome visitors, a bed of yellow Sunflowers stands proudly at the front of Monet’s house. The Natural Rust Patina Sunflower Garden Sculpture (available in two sizes) can be grouped together with the Natural Rust Patina Iris Garden Sculpture to create a Monet inspired bouquet of cheerful flowers.
And what would a French Countryside Garden be without a Fleur-di-Lis? This gorgeous copper finial is available in a larger size to adorn your home or in a smaller version that would be a perfect architectural feature in your newly found garden. A popular saying in France is ‘La famille et les amis sont les fleurs du jardin de la vie,’ meaning ‘family and friends are the flowers in life’s garden’; express this sentiment in your garden by displaying a Friends Are the Flowers in the Garden of Life Garden Plaque.
Monet was always in search of rare and beautiful plants to add to his ever growing French Country Garden. His Japanese garden was inspired by the prints he passionately collected and was formed with selections of bamboo, wisteria, and weeping willows. You can create your own Japanese-themed area in your garden by incorporating a Japanese Tea Garden Solar Birdbath which adds a calming element to any space.
Of course, no Monet-style garden would be complete without a beautiful lily pond filled with nympheas (water lilies). Accent your pond with a Solar Floating Lily Fountain Head Kit that provides necessary oxygenation and features three fountain heads along with varying water height options.
Monet’s famous water garden was not so much about the foliage but more as to how the reflections played upon the water. At night, illuminate your pond by adding a solar powered Chameleon Smart Globe which changes colors as it glows.
For functionality, add a gorgeous Parisienne 30 inch Round Bistro Table with Pattern Metal Top made of wrought iron. Pair up the table with a set of matching Parisienne Arm Chairs with Pattern Metal Seat to create an inviting area from which to enjoy a glass of wine as you admire your French Countryside Garden.
And don’t forget to welcome visitors to your home by displaying your address proudly on a Fleur de Lis Oval Illuminator Wall and Lawn Plaque along with an inviting Filigris Personalized Rectangle Welcome Door Mat.
The French also have another saying, ‘La maison est le meilleur sanctuaire de l’amour et du Bonheur,’ meaning ‘there is no sanctuary of love and joy like home.’ Outdora is passionate about making your dreams for your home come true.
